Congratulations to Mr & Mrs McColm on their Wedding day | 18.08.18

What a day the 18.08.18 was for me and for the newly married Laura and Pete McColm. I was so fortunate to put my skills in test and see what magic I can bring to this already unreal and beautiful wedding ceremony and reception. So, where to start...

''They are slicing the cake!'' someone said.

Laura and Peter are the most amazing client that a photographer could want - natural, kind, understanding, supportive and relaxed. I didn't even struggle for a second to capture shots of them engaging with people and just enjoying their day while looking outstanding. On top of this, they never lost track of what we do and made sure we are always alright with everything. This wedding had a special spot in my heart because of many reasons - this was the very first wedding I did for this season, I have worked and known the bride for the past number of years and she has been a great support for me, for which I will forever be grateful and thirdly as a photographer being asked to attend someone's big is a huge thing.

This wedding was so well organised and knowing that the efforts of the bride and her friends have gone into making this has impressed me even more. Together with Chloe, we arrived at the hotel Spot in the Woods, where we met Laura and her bridesmaids. The venue was very relaxing and quite accommodating, a really good choice if you want to detox and prepare for something major, like a wedding. The Bride to be was so calm and ready for this that it just happened so quickly. One moment, we were photographing them, while they were getting the beauty on and the next we were at the Christ Church Colbury. You would's say it is a very small chapel but in all honesty, this was the sweetest and most personal place that one could have chosen - it was the perfect place to gather your closest. After all the formalities, we got behind the wheel again (bear in mind, I am getting a lift with the bride and the groom, how amazing is this?) and head off to the final location - Morgan's Yard. Unfortunately, there isn't a link that can show you the exact place but this photo will give you an idea.

This beautiful marquee was covering the dining and dance-floor areas. Elegant, isn't it?

Once I got my foot off the car and it just hit me, this beautiful open field with an enormous marquee in the centre, next to a filed with camping tents. Stunning! A simple delight for the eyes and it couldn't have been any better - plenty of space for the little ones to run around and explore, while the guests enjoy a drink or two in the dining area or the dance-floor... or even in the garden. There was just so much space. Besides this, the decorations and the whole service was beautiful - think classical wedding with a note of vintage, shabby chic and earthy elements. Here, I'd like to mention the spectacular work of the catering teams who performed professionally and delivered delicious meals on the day - Wright Choice Catering and Georgie Culshaw Catering. Another important mention is the DJ's hot list who did not fail to make the young and old swing around at the event - DJ Dave's Disco and Karaoke.

Without further ado, I can now show you the official selection of the Wedding photographs and I have put both my heart and knowledge in this set of memories. Hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I did taking them.

If anyone is looking for a photographer, they would be crazy if they didn’t pick Sio. His creativity, his professional yet caring manner, his direction and wonderful personality helped to put everyone at ease on my wedding day. Everyone has said how amazing he was. Thank you, Sio for helping us to capture our wonderful wedding day.

I wouldn't have made such great photographs or cover the whole day that well without the assistance of my second shooter/apprentice - Chloe Farrier-Ledden. Chloe is one of my students and she has joined me on my programme to support young talent to gain industry experience that later on can be translated into creative entrepreneurship.

Working alongside Sio for the day as the second shooter was amazing. I have many new skills that I can now take away with me, which I wouldn’t be able to get without the experience of working with real clients.

Throughout the day Sio always made sure I was happy. He would keep me in the loop showing me the best shots he took, which inspired me with the photos I took throughout the day. He gave me responsibilities so I was always doing something without putting lots of pressure on me.
